trump and putin

On his Asia trip this week, Trump once again told reporters that Putin has personally denied that Russia “meddled” in the 2016 election, and Trump believes him. Trump has said this before, that Putin told him personally “they didn’t do it” and that he’s convinced Putin is telling the truth.

The Interloper knows we live in crazy times, but can we just slow down and process this for one freakin’ second?

The current President of The United States is publicly stating to the entire world that he believes a murdering thug dictator’s position on a matter of grave national security, before he will believe his own American men and women of the FBI, CIA, NSA, and Director of National Intelligence, his generals, the Vice President, his key National Security leaders that he appointed, and the leaders of the Republican Party.

Let’s just take a moment to think about that. Trump says he believes Putin instead of:

The list goes on and on, and those are only the Republicans. Basically just think of any current leader in the military, law enforcement, intelligence, or political realm other than DONALD TRUMP and bust out your Google and the result will likely be the same. Even Facebook, Google, and Twitter have all finally admitted Russians interfered in our 2016 election.

Now, why do all these people except DONALD TRUMP and VLADIMIR PUTIN agree that Russia meddled in the 2016 election?

BECAUSE RUSSIA MEDDLED IN THE 2016 ELECTION!

The Interloper won’t spend time here going into all the ways Russia “meddled” in the election; as the head of the FBI said (before Trump fired him for investigating Trump’s involvement in the matter): it was a complex “active measures” campaign, designed to help get Trump elected.

In fact, we need to stop calling it “meddling” – our country’s democratic process was attacked by Russia, a foreign adversary.

To be clear, the Interloper has nothing against the Russian people. The Interloper just disagrees with the fascist oligarch mafia that has taken over their country and is robbing it blind, one that jails and murders reporters and political opponents, has invaded its neighbors, and supports dictators and terrorists that are actively killing innocent civilians and our own American men and women on the battle field in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and other theaters where our troops are currently deployed.

Trump says the entire thing is a “Democratic hoax” to explain losing an election that they should have won.

Can we just stop and think about how absurd and twisted that is?

It is clear that we have been so abused, lied to and gas-lit by Trump that many people in the country literally cannot process what is happening and just shrug it off like it’s no big deal.

If you want to break thru the madness, try this little exercise to help see the absurdity of what is happening a bit more clearly:

Imagine that Barack Obama has just been elected President in an unexpected defeat of John McCain.

Obama is now the President. The heads of the FBI, CIA, NSA, the new Vice President, the new Sec of State, the leaders of both Republican AND Democratic parties, and in fact every major national security figure and the leading social media companies, non-partisan think tanks and journalism outlets all agree the evidence is clear that Russia attacked the election to help Obama win the Presidency.

And yet President Barack Obama says it’s all a conspiracy by the Republicans to explain why they lost, and the FBI and CIA and NSA and Congress and the tech and media world are all in a big conspiracy personally against the President, intentionally lying to America, and only he and Vladimir Putin are telling the truth.

All the evidence is a big lie, and you just need to trust the two of them, not your eyes. Oh and he is the “law and order” candidate, and the military is great and “his generals” are great, but it’s just a big conspiracy against him on this one topic, otherwise everything else with his leaders and Cabinet is fine, they are the “best people.”

Oh and by the way, President Obama is surrounded by people who have lied to Congress and the FBI about their meetings with Russians during the campaign, and he has all kinds of business links and entanglements with Russian investors, but you can’t really know what they are because he refuses to release his tax returns, and he believes we should eliminate the sanctions we placed on Russia after they invaded Ukraine.

Can you imagine that? Republicans would be going ape shit all over the country, and don’t tell me there wouldn’t be pitch forks and torches outside the White House gates.

Now, let’s use a little bit of that old thing called critical thinking and ask ourselves WHY our actual President is taking this insane position.

Start by making a factual statement that no one can disagree with: either Trump truly believes what he is saying, or he is lying.

It’s a binary proposition, one must be true, and therefore the other is not.

Option #1: He truly believes Putin, and none of his generals or his Cabinet or the FBI or CIA, and honestly thinks it must have been some 400 lb man in his bed in New Jersey that attacked us.

If this is really the case, he is mentally unfit for office and needs to be removed via the 25th Amendment.

Or

Option #2: He knows he and Putin are lying.

Even though we know Trump is a sick man with a narcissistic personality disorder who has no empathy for others, the Interloper does not believe that Trump is clinically insane. He is a professional marketer and con man.

So, if he is not clinically insane, we have to go with Option #2, he is lying about a matter of grave national security, where a foreign adversary has attacked our country in a calculated manner.

Okay, so why is he lying about something so serious?

#2A: he’s just got a big ego, and can’t admit what happened because it will call the legitimacy of his Presidency into question. If this is the case, then he puts his own ego before the security of the country, and is unfit for office, and needs to be removed via the 25th Amendment.

Option #2B: He knows he and Putin are lying, but he has no choice but to lie.

WHY? Because Putin has dirt on him, and he is being blackmailed.

You can likely break down the dirt into three possible areas: financial, sexual, or political / criminal. On the financial front, we may never know all the ways that Trump has taken dirty Russian money, but here is just one of many examples:

https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/why-did-a-russian-pay-95m-to-buy-trumps-palm-beach-mansion/

On the sexual front, the most salacious claims in the dossier may or may not be true, but the Interloper is guessing they likely are. They fit Trump’s personality. He had the motive, means and opportunity at the Ritz in Moscow in 2013. He has claimed it’s all “fake news” and garbage, just like Russia attacking our election, so it’s likely therefore true. And bit by bit, more and more of the dossier has been proven true. And none have been dis-proven. Trump and the right-wing media are yelling so loudly that Democrats paid Fusion GPS to dig up the dirt that went into the dossier, many millions of dollars, and that it’s all fake. Yeah? Well riddle me this, Batman: if you are going to make shit up, why would you pay anyone millions of dollars?? You just make it up! The reason both Democrats and Republicans pay millions of dollars to companies like Fusion GPS is they go out and dig up the actual dirt on people. It’s what they are in business for. If you needed fake stories, you could just hire a writer.

Now, Keith Schiller, Trump’s long time head of security, has apparently told Congressional investigators that he turned down a Russian offer of five women for Trump at the hotel that fateful night in Moscow. He also stated he stood outside the President’s door (for some unspecified amount of time) before retiring for the night, therefore he is unable to say for sure that no one entered Trump’s room.

That’s called establishing plausible deniability, folks. It’s a non-denial denial.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/09/politics/keith-schiller-russian-offer-women-2013-moscow/index.html

So we have gone from “fake news” and “never happened” to “well, it was offered but we didn’t accept” to “I can’t confirm it did not happen.”

Whatever you think of what Trump may have done in terms of personal character for a President, it’s not illegal, and he has always claimed he was a “ladies man.” The problem is it does make him vulnerable to blackmail.

Lastly, on the political / criminal front, if Trump knowingly laundered Russian money thru real estate transactions, or knowingly colluded with Russia to attack his opponents in the election, then the Russians have evidence of this, and he is open to blackmail.

The Interloper believes ultimately Trump is being blackmailed due to exposure on all three fronts. He has taken money from Russia for years to keep his business afloat when U.S. banks banned lending to him, and so he was already compromised when he was in Moscow in 2013, so it didn’t matter what he did on the sexual front, they already had him and he didn’t care, and he wasn’t running for President. Then when he ran, they made him some offers he could not refuse, and willingly took their help, because winning is all he cares about.

And what does Putin want in return? Chaos in America’s democracy to make his own leadership look reasonable (check), dissolving of our trade and military alliances (work in progress but making big strides), and removal of sanctions (failed so far but work in progress).

Any one, or combination of these scenarios, and in fact even just the blatant lying to support and defend Putin in the face of overwhelming evidence he attacked us, qualifies as treason under U.S. law:

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 807; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(2)(J), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2148.)

So there you have it. By saying he believes Putin, Trump just definitively proved he must be removed from office.

Either he believes Putin, in which case he is mentally unfit to lead, or he is knowingly lying and supporting Putin for any variety of criminal reasons, any of which qualifies as Treason.

The Interloper will go with the explanation that seems to explain a lot of bad male behavior these days: sex and money.
